TREVISO – More than 180 events including music, theatre, cinema, cabaret, art, food and wine. From June 21st to September 21stL‘Enchanted Summer this year too it will liven up auditoriums and halls, but above all the streets, squares and parks of the center and neighborhoods of Treviso. Including some places that hit the news for often unedifying episodes, such as the Giardinetti di Sant’Andrea or Piazza Borsa, the first step of a redevelopment that aims to erase the idea of degradation to make them places of cultural and tourist attraction”, as the mayor points out Mario Conte. The Giardinetti will host one of the inaugural concerts of the program curated by the Municipality on Friday, on the occasion of the European Music Day, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce, CentroMarca Banca and the Prosecco Doc Consortium and with the involvement of twenty associations, companies and other entities. The others will be held in Piazza Pola and Santa Caterina, promoted by the Manzato association, the Steffani Conservatory and 21 Gallery.
The circus
In Piazza Borsa, however, from 7 to 11 August, a “chapiteau”, a special tent, will be built for balancing games and contemporary circus acts (strictly without animals). Together with clowns and juggling in Piazza Rinaldi, it will be one of the two initiatives promoted by the Arteven circuit, another novelty for 2024, as recalled by the Councilor for Culture, Maria Teresa De Gregorio, presenting the program with her colleague for Productive Activities, Rosanna Vettoretti. Impossible to mention all the appointments. Among the many, always in Piazza Rinaldi, from 27 June, the open-air cinema will return, with films for 3.50 euros. Friday 12th July “Betoneghe doc”, new show by the Teatro delle Arance, while on 13th and 14th August, even while staying in the city, we will go “On holiday with Carlo & Giorgio”, thanks to the well-known Venetian comedy duo. Friday 30 August, the Treviso debut of the show Don Camillo, inspired by Guareschi’s masterpiece and, finally, on 3 September, Volti di Villa Dolcetta, a film directed by Marco Sartorello about the story of a Venetian family who emigrated to Sardinia.
Comedy and languages
The event has been expanded by popular demand “Comedians in the Lodge” will bring under the Knights’ Lodge (with free entry) well-known faces of Italian comedy, from Andrea Paris, to Dado, Antonio Mezzancella, Gianluca Impastato, Leonardo Manera, up to the Duo Idea together with the journalist Marino Bartoletti. After the success of the previous editions, it is proposed again “Theater to drink and drink”a combination of theatrical pieces and food and wine, which on July 1st will organize a picnic in the cloister of Santa Caterina while watching “Amanti e Pazzi”, a satire on love, staged by Compagnia Fumo Bianco and Tema Cultura. Theater for families and children with the shows “Un posto all’ombra” and “Fairy tales under the cedar”, by the “Gli Ottim” group at the Parco degli Alberi parlanti (with première already tomorrow afternoon), as well as “A theater with a roof of stars”, by L ‘Aprisogni, in the various neighborhoods. Summer Museums, curated by Asolo Musica, will resonate in the cloister of Santa Caterina five concerts of various genres starting from Thursday 4 July. Suoni di Marca, from 12 to 27 July, will see artists such as Santi Francesi, Paolo Benvegnù plus La Crus, Matthew Lee, Modena City Ramblers, Valerio Lundini and I Vazzanikki, GioEvan, Eugenio in via di Gioia and Planet Funk perform on the Walls.
In the centenary of the disappearance of Giacomo Pucciniin August, in Piazza Santa Maria MaggioreThe Grand concert of the Assumption, with the Filarmonia Veneta Orchestra, will pay homage to the “divine” works of the great composer. A double Puccinian gala also on 13 July and 21 September for Musica Civica. For folklore, with “Sile Folk” groups will arrive from Venezuela, Spain, Kenya and Portugal, while on 30 June dances and songs from Sardinia in Piazza Rinaldi. And again Treviso Retrò – music, theater and amenities of times gone by, Treviblues, the Treviso Incanto choral singing festival, Free Prato in Prato della Fiera, the contemporary theater festival Gea – Gioiosaetamorosa, the shows of the Teatro dei Pazzi. Without forgetting the visits guided tours of the IAT and the exhibition “Woman on stage. Boldini, Selvatico, Martini”, extended until 15 September. “More than one event a day: you are spoiled for choice – Conte notes – In a difficult period for all municipalities we have invested 85 thousand euros in the Enchanted Summer .
