(AGENPARL) – Mon 17 June 2024 Innovation is born from interdisciplinary dialogue: success for the first edition of YoungaDays, the agriculture festival organized by ANGA Ragusa
A festival that enhances agriculture and the connections it is able to develop with society. A three-day event in which speakers from different worlds discussed each other, developing an all-round reflection on investments, the environment, sustainability, good practices and visions. This and much more was YoungaDays, the first edition of the Agriculture festival, organized by the young people of ANGA Ragusa in collaboration with Confagricoltura Ragusa, which took place in the historic center of Scicli last weekend.
“An extraordinary success – comments the President of Confagricoltura Ragusa, Antonino Pirrè – which demonstrates the validity of the format, destined to become a fixed event of national appeal. The result of the tireless and visionary work of the young people of ANGA Ragusa, who deserve great applause for having rendered a valuable service to the community, and who will not lack the support of Confagricoltura Ragusa in valorising YoungaDays. An initiative that best represents the challenge of Confagricoltura, carried out in the best possible way by the new generations of entrepreneurs and agricultural entrepreneurs: working for competitive, resilient, sustainable agriculture, which promotes employment, growth, gender equality and the sustainable and inclusive development of communities”.
Various talks and debates on different topics: the history of food, doing business in agriculture in Sicily, agricultural communication, ecological culture, the paradoxes of today and tomorrow, social innovation, cultivated meat, service design and pedagogy. There was no shortage of convivial moments, such as the social lunch which took place at the end of the festival near the Aleardi stream. Furthermore, podcasts have been recorded with the protagonists of the festival, which will soon be available on Youtube and Spotify, to give value and allow the diffusion of the contents produced by the connections of these three days.
Of particular interest and participation was the round table “Working is tiring, or maybe not. Is doing business in Sicily with agriculture possible?” which was held on Saturday morning at Palazzo Spadaro. A technical table with banks and professionals on the world of credit and finance and on development strategies in which Maria Cristina D’Arienzo, Legal Area and Business Networks Manager of Confagricoltura, and Roberto Giadone, agricultural entrepreneur, member of the Board of Directors of Confagricoltura Ragusa, who met with Chiara Dibenedetto (President of the Young Entrepreneurs Group of Sicindustria Ragusa) and Emanuele Occhipinti (BAPR Commercial Management Staff).
Also on Saturday morning there was a very welcome visit from Sandro Gambuzza, member of the Confagricoltura Council, who followed the work and gave an interview on the sidelines.
“The outcome is more than positive – declares the President of ANGA Ragusa, Lorenzo Cannella -, with results that were above our wildest expectations, both in terms of participation in the various moments and of feedback on the quality of the talks and of round tables. Three days of sharing, of horizontal comparison, without communication hierarchies, beautiful, direct, lively on different themes, in which everyone stripped themselves of roles and prejudices and freely expressed their own vision. A fertile moment for creating connections, all in a magical context of unique beauty like the historic center of Scicli which hosted us.”
“We wanted to light the fuse of dialogue and listening – concludes Cannella – and I think we succeeded. An excellent result, the result of great teamwork on the part of Confagricoltura and the staff who worked with passion and a spirit of service.”
