The League of Vittorio Veneto, already excluded from next weekend’s ballot, is destined for commissionership. Last Friday Emanuela Poloni, Ornella Frare and Renato Zanchettin, councilors of the board of directors, presented their resignations and now it will be up to the provincial secretary of the Carroccio Dimitri Coin to unravel the mess, with a first meeting which is scheduled for today evening, Monday 17 June. What caused the case to explode was the electoral defeat (with a clear collapse in consensus) which was followed by the endorsement, with statements in the press, of Giovanni Braido, candidate of the League and Brothers of Italy, for the candidate of the Democratic Party, Mirella Balliana, pitted against Gianluca Posocco, former deputy mayor and Toni Da Re’s henchman, expelled from the League. Poloni, Frare and Zanchettin have dissociated themselves from Braido and left the board which currently includes the secretary Roberto Parrella and the councilors Alberto Pagotto and Pietro Sandre. In the absence of a quorum and the dismissal of the city secretary, the appointment of a commissioner was inevitable. Emanuela Poloni, member of the provincial board of directors, will officially ask for a “ferryman” at least until the electoral appointment next weekend.
