Piacenza ArchiTour – Night ride

Mario Bacciocchi in place of Jonas Vingegaard, Luigi Moretti in place of Tadej Pogačar. The Piacenza Territorial Center of the Polytechnic of Milan celebrates the historic start of the Tour de France on July 1st with an initiative that combines sport and entertainment, culture and community. Obviously in the name of architecture and the color yellow. The appointment is for Thursday 20 June in the evening, at the Arata Campus in Via Scalabrini, from where we will set off for a bike ride of around 10 kilometers through the streets of the city center during which – guided by Stefano Stabilini, professor of urban planning at the Polytechnic – details and curiosities of architectural stories will be told.

From Luigi Vaccaro’s Collodi nursery school to Galleana up to the Grattacielo dei Mille, passing through the Church of the Santissima Trinità (which will be open to visits, thanks to the collaboration of the Parish), the 12 stages of the Piacenza ArchiTour are designed for students and teachers of the local headquarters of the Polytechnic and for all Piacenza residents curious to discover the most fascinating architecture in the city. A group of yellow t-shirts (which will be given to participants) will wander among those modern architecture projects that gave shape to the Piacenza we know today.

The event is free, but registration is required. You can do this by writing, for information, to [email protected] (0523.356873). The start of the Piacenza ArchiTour is scheduled for 7pm from the Arata Campus in Via Scalabrini with the registration of participants. The return will be, in the same place, around 11pm. It is necessary to have your bicycle with you and the use of lights and a protective helmet is recommended. Thanks to the collaboration of the Municipality of Piacenza, the group will be escorted by the Municipal Police for greater safety along the streets.
