Pozzuoli. Moments of fear on Sandro Pertini seafront of via Napoli where a road sign pole detached from the pavement and hit a man in the head 12 year old.
The wound to the back of his neck caused a large and conspicuous hematoma bleeding. The minor was rescued by the 118 health workers and transferred by ambulance to the emergency room of the “Santa Maria delle Grazie” hospital in Pozzuoli where he was diagnosed with a head injury.
Officers also attended the scene Municipal police who carried out the necessary investigations to ascertain the causes that caused the detachment of the pole. Controversy over the state of maintenance of signs in the area was also raised by the 12-year-old’s mother.
«If that pole had hit him in another wrong place on his head, my son could have been killed and today I was feeling sorry for him for what? Why don’t they spend the money on maintenance? – tells Raffaella Volpe –. Fortunately, the CT scan was negative, but they told us that if any symptoms should appear we must rush to the hospital immediately and even when he sleeps we must keep him under observation. We are ready to denounce the municipality of Pozzuoli and all those who have responsibilities because it is unacceptable for something like this to happen.”
