Five days have passed since the magical evening in Montecatini in which the Delfes Avellino managed to gain promotion to Serie A2. Now it’s already time to look to the future with the programming of the new season. It was the President who spoke about it Giuseppe Lombardi during a press conference held this afternoon.
“The first thing to say is thank you all. – states the top executive – We like to talk about the company from an entrepreneurial point of view because great team work has been done. We are very satisfied with how this championship ended. The result honors us, gratifies us and it is right to talk about a business. We thank the city and fans who supported Delfes, there was a huge response. Passion is rekindled through work and the general public is passionate again. When we started there weren’t these conditions, now people are getting excited again. I am grateful to Nevola because in my first experience I didn’t think I could find a better manager, we will move forward in the next few years. The same thing can be said of the coach who arrived at a delicate moment and had the patience and the opportunity to work. He knew how to enter the locker room creating a team and a group. Now let’s start again with these two people.”
Lombardi talks about the next tournament in Serie A2: “Let’s start from the foundations for a serious project, in these days we will start thinking about the programs. Continue to build, trying to make a difference. There’s some news, but we’ll wait a little longer. The goal is Avellino at the center in every sense, the name that can represent the city in everything else.”
On just one team in the city the thought is very clear: “We have no vetoes or limits, what is certain is that we like to carry forward this project by building it in the best possible way. Whether it can be done in other forms will be evaluated, but the priority is for basketball to continue to grow.”
