The rumor that emerged last night about an attempt by Empoli to snatch D’Aversa from Cesena, which Tutti had immediately dismissed as untrue news, is instead proving to be an authentic negotiation. To the point that D’Aversa, who no later than Friday had given his final word to Cesena and had also spoken with the American owners, is in Empoli today to meet president Fabrizio Corsi, who wants to bring him in at all costs in the Tuscan club.
It was understood that there was something already in the morning, with the great agitation of the Juventus environment, which now considers the coaching issue closed and was waiting for D’Aversa at the headquarters tomorrow for signatures. Tomorrow, however, D’Aversa may have gone back on his word and signed with Empoli, while Cesena will sign the termination of the existing contract with Mimmo Toscano tomorrow morning in front of the employment consultant, who, yes, has not gone back on his word at Catania and this morning he went to Sicily to sort out the details of the “two+one” contract (until 2026 with extension to 2027 in case of promotion) identical to the one he signed 24 months ago in Cesena.
