After Ravenna, Medkon Lines also arrives in Venice

The Turkish shipping company Medkon Lines and the maritime agency Seaway Agency which represents it in Italy have made it known that, after the port of Ravenna, the port of Venice (Marghera) will also be added to expand the scheduled container maritime service which touches the ‘Italy in the Adriatic. “Another important step in the expansion of the Turkish company’s services in Italy, made possible thanks to close collaboration with the port and logistics operators in the area” says the maritime carrier.

“This new connection will not only improve connectivity between the north-east of Italy and the eastern Mediterranean, specifically with the ports of Egypt and Israel, but will also stimulate the economic growth of the local companies involved” declares Luigi Foglio, CEO of Seaway Agency, general agent for Italy of Medkon lines. “The first connection with the port of Ravenna allowed us, just a month after the launch of the activity, to move large quantities of goods, managing to fill the ships, both import and export. The results to date are not only in line with expectations but also with an increasing trend.”

The service will become weekly, thus guaranteeing more frequent connections. “Medkon Lines thus confirms its commitment to the Italian territory and the consolidation of the services offered” underlines the Turkish shipping line in conclusion.
