This morning, at the Potenza Futura auditorium, the press conference to present Potenza Calcio’s technical project for the 2024/25 season. During the event, the new Sports Director, Enzo De Vito, and the first team coach, Pietro De Giorgio, already at the helm of the club in the season just ended, were presented. Furthermore, the new head of the youth sector, Giuseppe Lolaico, illustrated the project dedicated to the rossoblù nursery.
President Donato Macchia declared: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the CEO Nicola Macchia who has worked tirelessly in recent weeks, dealing with all issues relating to the team’s registration for the championship. We are focused on planning every detail for the success of the new season.”
CEO Nicola Macchia added: “The dream is to have an exciting season from a results point of view. We must start again from the unfortunate playoff in Foggia, two years ago, and from the compactness and enthusiasm of the environment seen during this year’s playouts. Our enthusiasm is renewed through the choice of an important profile like that of DS De Vito and the reconfirmation of coach Pietro De Giorgio. We will have an approach dictated by humility, balance and positivity.”
DS Enzo De Vito commented: “We are aware of having to make as few mistakes as possible, through the choice of players with great desire, hunger and ready to work with great intensity from the first day of training camp. I am honored to hold this role in a place hungry for football and which has always stood out for its great passion. We will start working starting from the good base we have available.”
Potenza Calcio coach Pietro De Giorgio also spoke and declared: “I am very happy with this reconfirmation by virtue of the affection that binds me to the square. Potenza must start again from the good things done at the end of the season and from the great love of an important fan base like the rossoblù. There will be a change at a tactical level, moving to 4-3-3, which is a formation closer to my technical vision. I will demand from my boys a great culture of sacrifice and work.”
The Head of the Youth Sector, Giuseppe Lolaico, concluded: “The aim is to increase the new generations’ love for knitwear. To be able to achieve this objective, the contribution of the local professionals who, over the years, have managed to distinguish themselves in a positive way and bind together many generations of people from Potenza is fundamental. Power, therefore, as a driving force for the spread of a greater sense of belonging to one’s community and healthy sporting values. Wearing the shirt of your city must once again become an objective of the new local generations. This will be possible through important loyalty building work in the area, which has already started through an extensive calendar of internships, strictly free of charge, scheduled in recent weeks”.
