The Lions Club Livorno Porto Mediceo celebrates 25 years

The Livorno Porto Mediceo Lions Club will celebrate its 25th anniversary since its establishment. In fact, a quarter of a century has passed since the then founding members established the Livorno Porto Mediceo Club in 1999. Of the twenty founding members, Laura Antico, Andrea Bartolozzi, Cesare Cartei, Gaetano D’Alesio, Fabrizio Giusti, Giulia Giostra, Matilde Segnini, Sergio Russo, Stefano Santalena and Maurizio Zingoni are still part of the club. This important birthday will be celebrated during Charter Night on Wednesday 19 June 2024 which will be held at the Yacht Club Livorno, Via del Molo Mediceo, 21, starting from 7.30 pm. During the evening the Passing of the Bell will take place, a usual rite between Outgoing president lawyer. Michele Zanotti and incoming President Dr. Roberto Diddi. During the evening, there will also be the arrival of a new member. During the evening, a book will be presented with the activities carried out and the assignments of the famous Capperuccio Prize (the stole worn by the Governors of Livorno), awarded to personalities who in their lives have brought prestige to our city, including Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, the Rabbi Elio Toaf or Giotto Bizzarrini, the prestigious city institutions such as the Naval Academy, the Folgore Brigade, the Mascagni Institute and many people from Livorno who with their work have kept the banner of Livorno high. The following will be mentioned most significant interventions of the Club in our territory, from the restoration of the heads of the eagles on the monument to Cavour, to the participation in the restoration of the Famedio of Montenero or the plaque with the Poetry of Primo Levi placed on the facade of the Municipality of Livorno and many others. The evening will end with the awarding of some Lionistic awards.
