The local police station at the intermodal hub in Piazzale Vittorio Veneto was reopened this morning. Yet another sign of attention from the municipal administration for the Railway District, and an important reference for the residents and for the numerous visitors to an area which presents lights and shadows and which intends to be returned to full usability, in the name of inclusion and of integration.
“It is not a propaganda and extemporaneous initiative, but a further confirmation of our work at the service of legality and the community, and of the desire to bring the local police even closer to the citizens, in the awareness of the importance of the proximity service carried out. Despite the serious shortage of staff which will impose a reduced shift in the first months, which we will make up for with public competitions which will soon be announced and whose completion will be entrusted to external companies, to guarantee maximum transparency” explained the mayor Maria Aida Episcopo.
“The Railway District is central to our consideration, and our goal is to restore it to its beauty and livability, guaranteeing presence and safety. I thank the local police for this latest commitment, which will be carried out with the dedication and determination that I have had the opportunity to admire in recent months, and with the ability to overcome with enthusiasm and passion limitations which however multiply the desire to be participants and protagonists of an awaited and necessary rebirth” the words of councilor Daniela Patano.
“The unit will be operational in the initial phase for a daily shift from Monday to Friday, with two or four units. It will become the reference and our operational base for the city center as soon as new personnel units arrive” assured the commander of the local police, Romeo Delle Noci.
