New tragedy of immigration in the Mediterranean. The Nadir ship of the German NGO Resqship rescued a wooden boat full of water in which there were 61 migrants, ten of whom were found lifeless in the lower part of the flooded boat. The 51 were evacuated, taken to Nadir and subjected to initial medical treatment. Two of them were unconscious in the hull.

«The team intervened with an ax to break the hull and enter inside the boat – the NGO says – Rescue arrived too late for 10 people. The unconscious people are currently receiving medical treatment and awaiting urgent emergency evacuation. Our thoughts are with those who mourn. We are angry and sad. Fortress Europe kills.”
50 migrants missing off the coast of Calabria
About fifty migrants are missing due to the capsizing of the sailing boat on which they were travelling, about a hundred miles from the coast of Calabria. A merchant vessel came to the rescue of the vessel and subsequently transferred the 12 surviving migrants to a Coast Guard unit which then landed in Roccella Ionica. The body of a woman who died after falling into the sea also arrived in port. The search for the missing people has now been activated, but, at the moment, none have been recovered.
Third rescue in a few hours
In a few hours this is the third rescue for Nadir. First, a wooden boat reported by Alarm Phone and with 62 people on board was towed by the NGO, in agreement with the authorities, towards Lampedusa until the arrival of the Italian Coast Guard. Then another emergency: a boat full of water and petrol with 27 people on board. The crew of the Nadir distributed life jackets until the Coast Guard arrived.
