The Institute for the family section 55 (CONDOFURI- RC) announces the press conference of the “VI.VO” – VOLUNTARY NEIGHBORHOODS project supported by the “Con il sud” Foundation with the event to be held on 17 JUNE 2024 at 4.30 pm in the Perri room of the Metropolitan City, Palazzo Alvaro – Reggio Calabria. With satisfaction, the leader and the partners recount the long journey through the voices of the operators, volunteers and beneficiaries who have shown commitment and selfless dedication.
The project, which was among the best innovative ideas and among the 4 winners for the Calabria Region, in response to the Volunteer Call 2019, whose purpose is to do reborn the internal areas of Southern Italy, it lasted 36 months and aimed to combat the condition of hardship, social exclusion and territorial isolation of families in difficulty and vulnerable people (over 1,000 users reached) residing in the municipalities of Bagnara Calabra, Condofuri, Bruzzano Zeffirio, Molochio and surrounding areas .
The IPF 55 section of Condofuri together with the partners Vitasì social cooperative, the Terra Promessa social cooperative, the Fantasy Amateur Sports and Cultural Association – growing together and the institutional partners, the municipality of Condofuri, the municipality of Bagnara Calabra and the municipality of Molochio they only created opportunities to stimulate the local population to intervene in solidarity in the “neighborhoods”.
By meeting, working together and encouraging each other, they have intensified the network of relationships, giving life to solid social structures which will certainly reap their fruits even after the end of the project. The slogan of the project “Light up your life, become a volunteer”was the spur to do more and better in places where little or almost nothing existed in solidarity.
We are therefore certain that the chain of gift for the distribution of basic necessities (food, medicines, clothes, school supplies, etc.) and for the free use of services which are often absent in the area, of a social, socio-health and healthcare nature (e.g. social secretariat, psychological support, mobility aid, care, educational services, etc.) will not stop and its multiplier effect will lead to creating a real turning point in the culture of our territory.
