The annual presentation took place in the great hall of the “Ginanni” Institute scholarship dedicated to Franco Montanari, a great tourism expert, who passed away exactly ten years ago. Every year, since 2018, the scholarship of value of 500 euros is assigned to best graduate or the best graduate of the Institute’s tourist class for the previous year.

For 2023, the scholarship was divided ex aequo between the two students who obtained the best grade last year: Glenda Betti and Beatrice Manetti.

Present at the delivery were the head teacher Fausta Labidonisia, several teachers, classes III, IV and V of the Tourism course, Franco Montanari’s wife, Anna, and his daughter Sara and the Tourism councilor of the Municipality of Ravenna, Giacomo Costantini.

At the end of the awards ceremony, the children of the V Tourism section presented to the councillor, who had encouraged them in this direction during last year’s awards ceremony, the tourist blog which they have achieved in recent months, thanks to the coordination of the various teachers and in particular the work of professors Daniela Martino and Luca Maggio. The councilor appreciated and encouraged the kids to continue their work, also confirming their availability for further collaborations.

The scholarship in memory of Franco Montanari was established thanks to a private donation and is also confirmed for 2024.

Franco Montanari, who passed away in 2014 at the age of 71, after having been councilor of the Municipality of Ravenna in his youth, he had then dedicated his entire professional career, first as regional manager of Confesercenti, then as business consultant, to the development of tourism on our coast. He was among the first to understand the potential of Eastern Europe as an emerging market to which to propose the Riviera: an objective he pursued for years, with frequent trips and missions between Moscow, Prague and the Baltic countries, of which he left brilliant reportages in the book ” From the Rubicon to the Volga”.
