In Cagliari in the square for Satnam Singh | Cagliari

The countdown has begun for the 63rd edition of the Sardinia Artistic Crafts Fair, which will open its doors in Mogoro on July 26th. A month of intense work which this year sees the entire Mogorese community even more involved.

There will be over one hundred artisans who will exhibit in the exhibition space in Piazza Martiri della Libertà, where the set-up work has begun a few days ago. The first novelty this year concerns the artistic direction entrusted, for the upcoming edition, to the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Cagliari.

“We are not afraid of changes, what remains unchanged is the commitment that the entire Community puts in every year to give life to an event that is now eagerly awaited”. The mayor of Mogoro, Donato Cau, has no doubts, “from the oldest to the youngest, even children: the Fair is designed for users of all ages, who want to visit a unique exhibition, buy, follow workshops or the collateral activities that we are planning for the Mogoro summer”.

Once the artisans have been selected, we are proceeding with the young people from Parte Montis who will guarantee hospitality every day for almost two months.

“The machine is oiled – underlines the councilor for Productive Activities, Francesco Serrenti -, from the Municipality staff to the kids from the cooperatives who have been collaborating for years on the perfect success of the Fair. We have some surprises in store which, we are sure, will be appreciated especially by the younger ones. We are satisfied with the response received from the artisans, who convincingly joined our call: we are certain that the new layout, entrusted to Professor Carlo Atzeni, will once again enhance the unique products that the Fair offers”.

THE NUMBERS OF 2023

The 62nd edition of the Fair closed with a turnover of almost 300 thousand euros, admissions were 11,233, ticket proceeds brought in 31,363 euros. The turnover for the products sold was over 121 thousand euros, almost 25 thousand euros for the agri-food products, just under 12 thousand for the Bookshop.
