The appeal of 14 citizens at the TAR of Catania against the PUMSthe Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan it was not “rejected” by the TAR of Catania, but only, let’s say inappropriately, postponed. The lawyer clarifies this on the phone to our editorial staff Giuliano Saitta who sponsored the appeal presented. “The PUMS is not yet a document approved by the City Council and, furthermore, it is a programmatic document which, precisely because of this peculiarity, is not directly harmful to anyone. Therefore at this moment the TAR has only postponed the matter. In the sense that the matter can be reopened after the possible approval of the document and following an appeal lodged by any citizen who deems it detrimental to them“.
“Moreover – explains Saitta – the TAR, it is worth clarifying differently from what has been written, did not reject anything as it did not give any judgment on the merits of the appeal itself. And again, I want to clarify to whoever wrote this, that the appeal against the PUMS is the ONLY appeal presented at the moment and which has nothing to do with the one relating to the pedestrian area of Viale San Martino. Therefore the issue relating to the PUMS is only postponed until after your possible approval” concludes the lawyer Saitta.
