Basketball, music, entertainment and entertainment. This is the (wonderful) summary of third Jamboree of the Minibasket Tour 2024 staged at Cataniain Sicily, from 14th to 16th June.
Twenty-four rookie teams celebrated the end of the season with an event which, thanks to the presence of teams also from Czechia and Denmark, became international.
With the Czech and Danish mini-basketball players there were the Sicilian and Calabrian teammates and a team from Borgomanero. Organized by FIP Sicily Regional Committee and titled a Rossana Booka much loved coach on the island who suddenly passed away last year, the Jamboree was also a promotional moment for the entire Sicilian basketball movement.
In the end the group won Blue, which he scored 28 points respect to Whites (20). Points that must be added to those of the previous Jamborees (Ponza and Alba) and which will then make up the total with the remaining Jamborees (Caorle and Potenza). Whites: BC Wizards Újezd nad Lesy, Representative Calabria, Icaro Basket Sciacca, Airam, Pallac. Giarre, Omega Misterbianco, Lions Basket Messina, Unleashed, GF23 Sport, Pegaso RG, Aretusa, Virtus TP.
In total, they played in Catania 360 miniathletes of the Beginners category. 48 mini-basketball instructors, 24 instructors and youth referees. The teams were made up of male and female athletes born in 2012 and 2013. The facilities were those of the PalaCus, the PalaArcidiacono, the PalaWagner of Mascalucia, the PalaBattiati, the PalaGravina, the Palestra Leonardo da Vinci, the PalaKatàne and the Palatenda of Misterbianco .
The opening ceremony was beautiful and saw a procession march from Villa Pacini to Piazza Università, coloring the historic center of Catania. After the presentation of the Donia Awards to the excellence of Sicilian basketball, Piazza Nettuno hosted the Basket Freestyle Show Since 2000 with the From Move. Closing at the Pala Arcidiacono with the team awards ceremony!
