In Cagliari, puppets and marionettes on stage for the little ones – News

The curtain rises on the great theater of children. The puppet and marionette festival returns to the stage from 20 to 23 June at Sa Manifattura in Cagliari.

The 22nd edition of shows, workshops and games marks the debut on the 23rd at 6pm of the new production of Is Mascareddas, the first study of “Burrasca – Stories of the sea with table marionettes”, the latest work of the company that organizes the event and which this year won the prestigious Ubu award.

It interweaves six stories, The Mermaid of Palermo by Gianni Rodari, the classic myth of Hero and Leander, Fairy Tale by Grazia Deledda, the stories of the pirate Samuel Bellamy and Ida Lewis, the first female lighthouse keeper and the legend of the discovery of the statue of Good-natured.

The puppets are built with wood brought from the sea and landed on the coasts of Sardinia, as are many objects present on stage.

It starts on the 20th at 6pm with the Lombard company Campsirago Residenza which presents 3 Pigs, Cosa è casa, from an idea by Anna Fascendini with Barbara Mattavelli, Benedetta Brambilla and Sara Milani. It continues at 7.30 pm with the Milanese company Burattini Aldrighi, with Valerio Sebasthian Saccà protagonist of Farse Meneghine, a show composed of very funny farces that have their roots in the glorious Commedia dell’Arte.

Opening the second day of the festival, at 6pm, will be the home company, with Bolòm Bolòm, the flour is finished! on raising awareness on environmental issues. At 7.30 pm there will be space for the Granteatrino company from Bari, which brings to the stage one of the most famous fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm – Hansel and Gretel with the scenes and characters designed by Nicoletta Costa and with Chiara Bitetti and Anna Chiara Castellano Visaggi, directed by Paolo Comental.

On the 22nd Granteatrino will still be on stage with La Capra ballerina, with Anna Chiara Castellano Visaggi, Luca Mastrolitti and Chiara Bitetti, directed by Paolo Comentale. Also on the bill is a classic from Is Mascareddas: Areste Paganòs and the Devil’s Flour. The curtain closes with the Fueddu e gestu company and its new show Nais, On stage Maura Grussu and Nanni Melis directed by Giampietro Orrù. On the 20th and 23rd, Scientific Recreation by Pietro Olla and Circoscienze by him are scheduled.
