Architecture Festival – The Project of the Jobel Consortium, the only winner in Calabria

The Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture announced with a press note in recent days the ten winning projects of the third edition of “Architecture Festival”who were awarded a total funding of 955 thousand euros, intended to support, promote and enhance contemporary Italian architecture through cultural events aimed at a large and varied audience.

Among these projects there is also“Crotone: the city with the sea“Of Jobel Consortium Social enterprise that will develop between Crotone, Capo Colonna, Santa Severina, Rocca di Neto, Cirò Marina, Capo Rizzuto Island.

The proposals, which meet the identified criteria of quality, internationalization and sustainability, were selected from the 31 applications received by a Commission composed of: Maria Piccarreta, Regional Secretariat of Puglia of the Ministry of Culture (President); Raffaele Giannantonio, associate professor of History of Architecture at the University of Chieti; Francesca Canfora, artistic director of Paratissima Turin/Milan/Bologna and member of the Scientific Technical Committee for contemporary art and architecture of the DGCC; Simona Gervasio, official architect of the DGCC; Luciano Antonino Scuderi, official architect of the DGCC.

The Jobel Consortium is the only entity in Calabria to have obtained the financing,that’s why the president Santo Vazzanocan only express great satisfaction: «This time too – he explains – we wanted to implement an action with the local authorities, in this case with theOrder of Architects of Crotone».

The project is linked to the work of regeneration of spaces that the Consortium has been carrying out for years now through a series of initiatives and programs that involve the entire community: «Our idea of ​​regeneration – explains Vazzano – is not just urban but it is also social and human. In this sense, our commitment continues in Parco Pitagora but also in the neighborhoods of the city and in the province.”

A continuity of intent and good practice that has led to this other important result.
The national projects must take place between 1 and 30 April 2025, while all activities relating to the valorisation of Italian architecture abroad can be carried out from the day following the publication of the ranking and concluded no later than 15 October 2025.
