State of unrest and strikes by the workers of IMR Industrialesud Spa of Teramo against the transfer of work to other production sites
The workers expressed strong discomfort and concern, in light of the dismantling of equipment for processing in the “Boutique” department (upholstery) but also of the molds for processing in the other lines.
The RSU IMR Industrialesud SpA and the FILCTEM, UILTEC, UGL secretariats of Teramo have negatively evaluated the exclusion of the local trade union representatives from the table convened on 6 June, following the state of agitation proclaimed in the other sites due to the problems concerning the implementation of the plans industrial reconversion.
In particular, the workers’ assembly demands:
“The immediate blocking of all operations to transfer processing and related equipment to other sites; the immediate activation of all institutional initiatives necessary for the protection of the productive and professional heritage of the Teramo site; the verification of the industrial plan discussed at the regional level and verification of the plans in place in the other sites that have been the subject of financing by the former MISE Ministry; the stabilization of temporary workers as a guarantee condition for the production and employment stability of the Teramo site”.
The same workers have given a mandate to the RSU and the union secretariats for the proclamation of the state of agitation, divided into a strike for overtime and any form of additional work, and a package of 24 hours of strike, with a mandate to activate abstention from work based on the requests mentioned above.
The RSU and the union secretariats have already taken action to request an urgent meeting of the Table from the Abruzzo Region, as a precondition for the convocation of all the parties involved at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy.
The trade union organizations and the RSU reserve further initiatives, with the activation of protest actions, based on the developments of the dispute.
