“Even those who tell fairy tales are murderers”: the Claudio Marini exhibition inaugurated in Latina

The vernissage of the exhibition by Maestro Claudio Marini entitled “Even those who tell fairy tales is a murderer” took place on Sunday morning at 11:00 am, at the Romberg Contemporary Art Gallery in Latina. In the presence of many citizens and art history enthusiasts, as well as friends of the artist with a large representation of Veliterni, the ribbon was cut on an original exhibition in which the Master’s art is confirmed as communicative, pioneering and always “on piece”.

The paintings on display are extremely particular, all twenty-three part of a cycle still in production, and are characterized by the abstract touch of the master Marini who worked on the colors by inserting a constant in each canvas represented by a writing – sometimes more visible, sometimes less – which contains the phrase “even those who write fairy tales are a murderer”, inspired by some thoughts of the sculptor and writer Fausto Melotti who included this aphorism in one of his books.

The comforting and lighter colors that recall the rainbow and accompany the writing on fairy tales in the corners of each painting are in stark contrast with the strong and dark black that instead prevails in some of the paintings, or with the polychromatic explosion of green, purple , red, black that stands out in others.

Marini was surrounded by the affection and interest of friends and art enthusiasts, who gradually filled the spaces of the Romberg Gallery in Latina, greatly appreciating the exhibition. Extremely engaging, then, is the possibility of writing in a notebook (to be left to maestro Marini) the fairy tale you hated most; once the fairy tale had been indicated, it was possible to write the title directly on the wall at the beginning of the exhibition, an experience that everyone had with great fun.

Claudio Marini himself made some statements exclusively to our editorial staff to tell us the reasons that led him to work on this cycle which later merged into the exhibition, which will remain open every day from Tuesday to Saturday from 4.30pm to 7pm until 10am. August: “I started working on this cycle in February inspired by a phrase uttered by the Italian writer and sculptor Fausto Melotti. In a book where there were some of his thoughts he put this phrase, which struck me. Let’s say that this is a cycle that has not yet ended, but the gallery owner saw the paintings, he liked them, and he wanted to have this exhibition. So much so that there are 23 works on display, precisely to give a different and harder impact. I believe that the sentence is already expressive in itself, but with signs, colors and gestures I wanted to tell the drama or the political aspect that may be behind this sentence as well as the emotions that the sentence can create. meaning of this statement”.
