Reggio Calabria, double appointment with the theatre

A double theater appointment at the archaeological site Odeona magical place that houses the remains dating back to the Greek era in the heart of the historic center of Reggio Calabria, in a residential complex in via XXIV Maggio. Off we go Wednesday 26 June with “Antigone. The butterfly’s dream”, based on a text by the Spanish philosopher María Zambrano, directed by Americo Melchionda and starring Maria Milasi. A show that brings to the stage the profound philosophical reflections of Zambrano combined with the visions of Antigone in the form of all the affections denied by his existence (Ismene, Jocasta, Oedipus, the nurse Anna), as if they were shadows. On stage in a double repeat at 7.00pm and 9.00pm, places are limited and booking is recommended.

There is also space for the story told Friday 28 June with “The war of Paulinuzzu Millarti”by and with Andrea Puglisi, a show that won the “More South of Tunis” award for interpretation, dramaturgy and direction, also in double performance at 7.00pm and 9.00pm, always with limited places which they recommend booking.

Two shows that want to open a reflection on conflicts, but above all on beauty and peace also thanks to the message that the theater offers, in this case aided by the beauty of an exceptional location, protected by the Archaeological Superintendence of Calabria and often a setting for niche and quality performances.
