Eni And YOU DO have launched an initiative that will allow the public to discover the Gasometer Complex of Rome Ostiense through a series of five Sunday appointments scheduled from June to November 2024. This collaboration offers a unique opportunity to explore and deepen our knowledge of this industrial site that has played a significant role in the history of Rome and of theItaly. The valorization of the Gasometer is part of the broader urban regeneration project launched by Enipromoting the conservation and celebration of Italy’s industrial heritage.

The Historical Importance of the Gasometer Rome Ostiense

The Gasometer of Rome Ostiense represents a historical icon of the eternal city, symbol of the industrialization and modernization of theItaly in the last century. Built in the 19th century, the Gazometro played a crucial role in the process of producing and distributing the gas necessary for the lighting and heating of Roman homes. Its imposing metal structure, over 90 meters high, dominates the urban landscape and testifies to the importance of the gas industry in the economic and social history of the country.
