Historic victory for Mister Butteri’s amaranth in the final of the women’s Under 15 Tuscan Cup, beating Fiorentina of the same age in a vibrant and competitively very balanced match played on Friday 31 May at the “Gino Bozzi” stadium in Florence.

Fiorentina who immediately imposes their game and Arezzo who, well positioned on the pitch, do not give their opponents much space. The only notes of the first half are a shot by Meniconi that ends up high and a save by Peruzzi who deflects a treacherous shot by Morr into a corner.

Second half sees Fiorentina continuing their offensive pressure and Arezzo trying to restart quickly.

In the 34th minute, on one of these restarts, it was Meniconi who anticipated the Viola defender and was brought down in the area. Meniconi herself takes charge of the penalty and beats Salvadori with great coolness.

The Amaranths try to push and on a couple of occasions create difficulties for their opponents. In the 48th minute, on a free kick from the attacking midfield for Arezzo, Mondola shoots towards the goal and surprises Salvadori for 2-0.

Fiorentina who at this point tries with all their might to recover the match by hitting the posts defended by Brunelli three times. In the 58th minute Morr Echavarria, after hitting yet another woodwork, finds the winning tap and closes the gap.

The last minutes of the match were a siege for the Viola but the Arezzo team defended well and achieved the historic victory. For President Massimo Anselmi’s team it is the first regional category trophy won.

Ugh. Acf Arezzo press
