Starting from Wednesday 12 Junethe Municipality of Trieste reactivates its usual recreational-educational service, the Regret, offering a wide range of recreational activities for children during the summer period. This service is designed to guarantee continuity with winter school activities, maintaining a strong connection with the territory and offering new opportunities for growth and fun.

A rich and varied offer

The Ricrestate is aimed at children and young people who have completed at least 6 years as of 12 June 2024, including non-residents in the Municipality of Trieste. The service is divided into 11 weekly shifts, active from Monday to Friday, from 7.30 to 14.30, until 6 September, with a break in the week of August (12 to 16 August 2024). This year, the administration has extended the summer offer period by adding a shift in September, to better respond to the needs of families in reconciling care and work times.

Afternoon activities and collaborations

In addition to the morning programming, the Padovan recreation center will continue to offer afternoon activities from 2.30pm to 7.30pm, Monday to Friday. This service is possible thanks to the collaboration between the Department of Education Policies and various public and private operators such as CONI, CAI XXXOttobre Trieste, FIN PLUS, Historical and Artistic Museums of the Municipality of Trieste, Teatro Stabile Friuli Venezia Giulia Il Rossetti, La Underground Chapel and The House of Cinema.

Sport and cinema at the center of the programming

The President of the Regional CONI, Giorgio Brandolin, underlined the success of the collaboration with the Municipality of Trieste, which allows children to try their hand at various sports, including badminton, rugby, swimming and diving. Furthermore, this year, the cinema will have a central role in the programming of the Ricrestate, thanks to the partnership with La Cappella Underground and the Casa del Cinema Association of Trieste.

“The Underground Chapel – states Chiara Barbo, President of the association – proposes guided tours in the Media Library e screenings of selected filmsfollowed by games and thematic discussions.” Elisa Rossetto, of the organizational secretariat of the Casa del Cinema Association, adds that their illustrated cinematographic botanical garden will be one of the main attractions, with the exhibition Botanical Act dedicated to the evergreen actors present in the most famous films.

Shows, trips to the beach and workshops

The municipal recreation centers will host magic, soap bubbles and juggling shows, organized by the entertainment and entertainment agency Gaia Eventi, involving over 700 children and teenagers. There will be no shortage of trips to the seaside, with over five thousand entrances expected in six different seaside locations: Caravella di Sistiana, Boa Beach Lungomare di Muggia, Sirena di Grignano, La Lanterna, Ausonia and Marina Julia.

There are many sports proposals, from badminton to rugby, including diving, swimming and orienteering, thanks to the collaboration with CONI and CAI XXX Ottobre Trieste. Furthermore, inclusive workshops will be organized by the Association for surgical children of the Burlo ABC of Trieste, promoting a more empathetic and inclusive community.

Culture and nature

Thanks to the collaboration with the Civic Museums of the Municipality of Trieste, the children and young people of the Ricrestate will have free access to the city museums, promoting knowledge of the historical, artistic, musical and naturalistic museum heritage. The project Nature and Horses will allow participants to learn a culture of respect for the environment and animals, thanks to the collaboration between the AMICO cooperative and Padriciano Ranch 193.

Growth and fun for everyone

The educational project Growing Up offers programming dedicated to children aged eleven to sixteen, with trips to the provincial territory and exploratory activities. “Ricrestate is designed for our young and very young fellow citizens – states Councilor Maurizio De Blasio – so that they have an opportunity for recreation but also for learning, for meeting but also for free expression. Their individual growth is an essential part of the collective one and therefore of effective civil progress of our city and national community.”

Recestate 2024 promises to be an unforgettable summer for all the children and teenagers of Trieste, with activities ranging from games to sports, from culture to nature, in a safe and stimulating environment.
