BEIJING (CHINA) – The past weekend was a stellar one for two athletes from the Latin American dance school “Mamacita latin dance school” in Brindisi.
The National indoor stadium in Beijing, China, an imposing structure and former location of the Olympics, hosted the “Boc Wordl Open Dance” event and saw the participation of the very young people of Brindisi Melissa Zecca12 years old, and Alessia Franceschini16 years.
Melissa achieved a series of awards: gold in the Under 14 Latin only category; silver in the Elite open under 16 Latin only; the bronze in the Under 16 only Latin and in the Elite open under 14 only Latin. The twelve-year-old took fourth place in the Elite open girl under 14 only Latin category and fifth place in the International open solo elite category.
Great successes also for Alessia, who achieved gold in the Under 19 only Latin sections, in the Under 21 only Latin sections, in the International open under 19 only Latin and in the International open under 21 only Latin sections. The sixteen-year-old won silver in the Elite open youth under 19 latin only categories and in the International open solo elite categories.
They were all the result of intense work, especially considering the very young age of the athletes. Two prides of the Brindisi area, which demonstrate the continuity in the promotion of high-level competitive dance by the school from which they come. Together with them, moreover, there are many other promising young people who give rise to hope and who will certainly raise the name of the city and its province.
