“The citizens have expressed a clear appreciation for the continuation of the ongoing administrative experience and this no longer makes my availability necessary, given that in the opposition council group there is already energy and experience to carry out a function of constructive criticism and control “. Thus Mario Morgoni announces that he wants to give up the role of municipal councilor in Potenza Picena, after having run for mayor with the centre-left, only to be defeated by the centre-right coalition led by the outgoing mayor Noemi Tartabini. Fausto Cavalieri will take his place, having obtained 127 preferences with the PD list.
“In a few days the first session of the newly elected municipal council of Potenza Picena will be held – wrote Morgoni in a note –. As the candidate for mayor of the defeated coalition I am called to be part of it, but I think it appropriate to make a different choice. And even without holding positions institutions, I will continue to be a traveling companion with my presence, advice and example to transmit to young people the passion and values of a policy that recovers credibility and usefulness in pursuing the common good”. Furthermore, he will also be active on another front. “I will continue to dedicate part of my commitment to the Italian Institute for Asia – continues Morgoni –, which I have the honor of presiding and which plays an important role in relations with the countries of a strategic area for the future of the world.
