«Rental cut for public land»

The outgoing mayor Carlo Salvemini promises to cut the fee for occupying public land

Mayor Carlo Salvemini, in view of the ballot, visits the historic center to meet traders and artisans and announces that he expects an overall reduction of 300 thousand euros on the single fee for the occupation of public land, with consequent savings for commercial activities.

The other news
The operation is made possible by the improvement of public finances. Already last year there was a first significant reduction, explained the mayor. Another new feature concerns the limited traffic zone. To meet the needs of those who live and work in the historic center there is the concrete possibility of reviewing the free access times.

The attack
The mayor then stings Adriana Poli Bortone: «He says he will drive the Leninists out of Lecce. We, however, say that the city is not a fort, no one is in charge here. The city is not a ring in which those who have privileges and those who don’t clash, those who are with us or against us. Lecce is one, in its differences. Lecce is united in its pluralities. They will not be able to go back to treating the people of Lecce only as voters and not as citizens. They won’t be able to divide the city and sow hatred. Because Lecce does not forget. Because Lecce is united, free and honest, everyone’s city”, claims the mayor.

Forward with a smile
«Our electoral campaign has a formidable fuel: the affection you show me every day. The energies you transfer to me. The certainty that the only place we can go is the future. Because results are achieved step by step, by covering kilometers, finding solutions for the good of all, without the need for arrogance, arrogance, falsehood and divisions. Forward, with a smile», says Salvemini.

A collective challenge
«We are all candidates. This is my invitation to each of you, the invitation to feel that we are all part of a new collective challenge, of a new plural adventure. The alternative is to go back 20 years, with the same class of government and the same use of power that we all remember. This is why we are all candidates”, claims the mayor. «We have a whole new challenge ahead of us because Lecce hasn’t made a choice yet. Anyone who would like to generate a climate of tension doesn’t really care about our city. On Sunday 23rd and Monday 24th June we will be called to vote and we are ready with the knowledge that not only the mayor but an entire ruling class will be chosen. The names and surnames of the centre-right are eloquent: there is a past that is eager to return to being the new present”, highlights Salvemini.
