A divine pink wave with the women of wine

A divine pink wave is expected in our region from 20 to 24 June, on the occasion of the fifth national convention of the Women of Wine, entitled “Women, Wine and Culture”. The Marche region beat off the competition from Lazio and Abruzzo to welcome around a hundred of the over 1000 members of the Association, founded in 1988 to give greater prominence to the presence of women in corporate, catering and wine communication contexts. Daniela Mastroberardino is the national president, Daniele Sorana, of the Colonnara company, the delegate of our region. Together with her, two deputies: Nazzarena Ceci, of the company of the same name, and the sommelier Stefania Palazzesi.

The experience

A 5-day experience to fall in love with our region, getting to know it not only from an oenological point of view, but also from a cultural, artistic and landscape one. «We are very proud and grateful to the Region first and foremost and to all the sponsors who gave us their support – said Nazzarena Ceci – because they understood the high ambition that guides us in the realization of this event». In fact, beyond some visits to the cellars, the focus will be above all on the main wine productions, on the art and history of our cities. «Ours will be an intense journey – said Daniela Sorana, who illustrated the program – We will start on Thursday with a focus on Verdicchio, visiting the cellar, the vineyard and the Sartarelli museum in Poggio San Marcello, then a masterclass will be held at Federico II on the classic method Marche bubbles. On Friday morning there will be a historical-tourist visit to Ascoli, with lunch at the Meletti café, while in the afternoon we will go to Recanati to talk about Giacomo Leopardi. From here the group will be divided into two: one part will go to the Garofoli winery in Castelfidardo, while the other will visit the Fattoria Forano in Appignano”.

The highlight

The culmination of the convention will be Saturday, during which the women of wine will be in Pesaro for a visit to the Palazzo Ducale, where the national conference will then be held which will end with the gala dinner at the Rotonda a mare in Senigallia. Finally, on Sunday morning, the group will visit the Frasassi Caves, and then face another masterclass, on the longest-lived white wines of our region, at the Marchese del Grillo restaurant in Fabriano. The final lunch will also be held here for participants who have chosen the 3-night convention. A part of the group, however, will continue with another day of activities, first at the Cantina Vicari in Morro d’Alba, and then, on Monday morning, in the Ancona area. Here there are two distinct itineraries planned, chosen by the participants: boat trip on the Conero from the port of Numana, or visit to the city of Loreto. The epilogue, for all of them, will take place at the Fortino Napoleonico, in Portonovo, with another typical dish: Ancona-style stockfish.
