ANCONA The scenario around Ancona continues to remain shrouded in the mists of distressing uncertainty. The weekend didn’t bring any substantial news but it still marked a turning point.
The mayor turns the page
From this morning, having taken note of the silences of Tiong and his representatives, Daniele Silvetti will draw a line from the past, represented by Us Ancona, and will decisively throw himself on the path of a new company suitable to support the request for registration in Serie D. The mayor has already had numerous contacts with entrepreneurs potentially interested in accepting the invitation to give Ancona a future. We understand that there would be a couple of Calabrian entrepreneurs, not connected to each other, who would have expressed interest in taking over from Tiong or in starting a new corporate structure. Obviously the solidity and reliability of the subjects and the related projects must be verified. Silvetti seems to have clear ideas and some cards to play in local and surrounding businesses too. These contacts have so far remained mostly in their embryonic state. This morning the mayor plans to take stock of the situation and start talks to explore the intentions and projects of the entrepreneurs already contacted.
Tight deadlines
The date of 8 July as the deadline for submitting the application for registration in the supernumerary D series, on the basis of the provisions of art. 52 of the Noif, is there to mark the countdown to give Ancona a future credible. The mayor is awaiting communication from the FIGC notifying him of the exclusion of US Ancona from the championships with the invitation to indicate the category in which to request registration. The arrival of the letter from the Federation officially marks the start of the procedure pursuant to art.52 Noif. For reasons of time, the mayor intends not to launch an official call for expressions of interest. Instead, it will proceed with direct contacts and negotiations with the interested parties with the aim of identifying a sufficiently solid corporate structure to ensure the requirements for registration in Series D. The application must be accompanied by the payment of a fee lost by at least 300 thousand euros plus registration fees. The precise determination of the non-refundable amount will be carried out by the FIGC on the basis of the catchment area. There was also talk of the possibility of using the Anconitana freshman, a hypothesis which however does not seem feasible. There is only one certainty at the moment: we must act quickly.
Tiong enough
Patience towards the president of US Ancona is exhausted. Silvetti is rightly irritated by the behavior of the lawyer Giangrande who represents Tiong. After the first contact with which he was offered a meeting in a law firm in Bologna, no one showed up again. At this point the mayor is no longer available to travel, a possible meeting will have to take place in Ancona. Provided that Tiong intends to respect what he promised, belatedly, with his latest communication. In the series, the worst never ends.
