Attacking midfielder Nicola Farinelli is very close to joining Forlì. Born in 2001, originally from Ravenna, an attacking midfielder, he is one of the elements strongly supported by coach Alessandro Miramari who, in the season just ended, made him one of the pillars of Corticella where he exploded, scoring 7 goals in the 27 matches played. Soon the red and white director Cristiano Protti should close the negotiation with the signing of the contract.

Raised in the youth teams of Cesena and Bologna, with the rossoblù wearing the Primavera team jersey, Farinelli made his debut in the ‘grown-ups’ with Borgosesia, in Serie D, in the 2021-22 championship, scoring 2 goals in 32 appearances. In the following championship (2022-23) the midfielder put together 12 goals, without goals, in the ranks of Lentigione and then consecrated himself at excellent levels, as mentioned, in the last championship becoming a fundamental piece of the Corticella of the new Forlì coach. In total there are 71 games played in the fourth series by the imaginative offensive player, with the addition of 9 goals.

While waiting for the official announcement, with this negotiation in place the number of new additions made by Protti for next season will rise to four. Previously, the registration of the striker Davide Macrì, born in ’96, taken from Follonica Gavorrano, and those of the midfielders Francesco Menarini (’97), also coming from Corticella, and Francesco Campagna (2000), arriving from Sammaurese had been defined .

However, the negotiations for the arrival at Forlì of left back Giovanni Brighi, born in 2006, who last season played 28 matches, with 2 goals, with Bologna’s Primavera team, have not yet been finalised. The ambitious Grosseto, who is aiming for the top ranks in the Tuscan group of Serie D, was also included in the negotiations for the defender, from Forlì who first grew up in the youth system of Vecchiazzano and Galletti, then in the ‘cantera’ of Cesena who own the card. .

In the meantime, to give shape to the senior team for the next championship, manager Protti is exploring the possibilities offered by the market, looking first and foremost for a goalkeeper who will replace the fullback Michele Pezzolato, who should return to Spal, for a central defender, who on the board available to Miramari will take the place of Shaqir Tafa (in whom some Serie C clubs are interested) and a new striker to join striker Mario Merlonghi.

For next season, the club has decided that training will begin on the grass of the Morgagni stadium and then continue, from the beginning of September, on the playing field of Santa Maria Nuova, where further work is underway.
