The Tuscia Film Fest pays homage to the Boris saga

Viterbo and Tuscia are increasingly a land of cinema. From 12 to 20 July, Italian cinema is once again the protagonist, between the arena of Piazza San Lorenzo and the Sacro Bosco of Bomarzo, thanks to the 21st edition of the Tuscia Film Fest directed by Enrico Magrelli. The organizing director of the event Mauro Morucci anticipates the alpha and omega of the nine days of screening, peppered with meetings with directors, actors, screenwriters and professionals.

«At the beginning – he states – “A world apart”, directed by Riccardo Milani and starring Virginia Raffaele and Antonio Albanese. The closing, on July 20th, in a special location: the Sacro Bosco of Bomarzo which will exceptionally open its doors to the public in the evening, with the celebration – ten years after its release in theaters – of “Every damned Christmas” directed by Giacomo Ciarrapico, Luca Vendruscolo and Mattia Torre (the latter died in 2019, ed.) and the meeting with the directors and part of the cast of the film. The trio’s second work and partly set in an imaginary Tuscia, “Every damned Christmas” is a sentimental and satirical comedy on the theme of Christmas, experienced as a real nightmare: a holiday that stresses and tires people since the night of times.”

During the day Ciarrapico and Vendruscolo will receive the “Tuscia Terra di Cinema” award assigned to them and (in memory) to Mattia Torre. «The recognition – explains Morucci – is awarded every year to personalities of Italian cinema who, for emotional reasons or thanks to their work, have enhanced the territory of the province of Viterbo. The homage to the three directors of Boris will then continue in September in the gardens of the town hall of Viterbo with a three-day event dedicated to them, from 12 to 14 September, which will see the protagonists of the TV series meet and discuss with the public and the dedicated reading in Torre of his friend and colleague Valerio Aprea”.

But on the program of the 21st Tff there are also the two annual prizes: the “Pipolo Tuscia Cinema” which goes to an emerging personality on the Italian cinema scene indicated by the Moccia family and the festival management and “I mestieri del cinema”, awarded by a jury composed of members of the artistic and organizational direction of the Tff to a professional, chosen from the various categories, who contributed to the creation and success of one of the Italian films included in the event’s programme.
