Safe sea, checks begin along the coast – Pescara

PESCARA. The Coast Guard’s summer campaign “Safe seas and lakes 2024” began yesterday, which also includes control of the Pescara coast in the summer season. This year too, the Maritime Directorate of Pescara has set up an operational device to guarantee the regular use of the coastal strip of Abruzzo and Molise, as well as the Tremiti Islands.
The people of Pescara, and the many Italian and foreign tourists who choose to spend their holidays along the Abruzzo coasts in the summer period, will find every day around 50 men and women, employed both at sea and along the coasts who, with 15 naval units and 13 vessels on land, they will guarantee the safety of bathing and navigation. Particular attention to the protection of the environment and the fish supply chain.
«Also for the summer of 2024», reports with satisfaction the maritime director, captain of the vessel, Fabrizio Giovannone, «the Coast Guard, in addition to normal institutional activity, will guarantee maximum commitment to ensure its professionalism for the benefit of swimmers, boaters and divers. More intense controls will be guaranteed on all activities carried out at sea in order to prevent illegal conduct dangerous for people, for the environmental heritage, for the marine ecosystem and for fish resources. From this year, it is possible to report any emergency situations to the single emergency number, 112, in addition to the usual blue number 1530″.(oda)
