It is Lorenzo Mossucca from Melfi who lifts the ninth “City of Grassano Cup”, a heated and spectacular slalom held today on the provincial road n° 1 of Matera – former Via Appia, valid for the Centro Sud Trophy, as a stage of the 4th Italian Slalom Cup ACI Sport area (Puglia, Calabria and Basilicata) and for the 21st CPB Interregional Challenge (Campania, Puglia and Basilicata). The MM Racing driver, at the wheel of a Radical SR4 with a flash in race three, covered the 2995 meters of the course in 2’12″53, exceeding by 29 hundredths the best time set in the second lap by Carmelo Coviello from Potenza, winner of the last four editions on Osella PA21, and effectively repeated the success in the direct comparison already achieved a month ago in Picerno.

“I’m satisfied with the result because today my team was missing but my friends from Melfi gave me a hand and we did it – declared the winner during the awards ceremony -. Congratulations to Carmelo, it was a hard-fought challenge until the end. We will continue to work on the car and we are optimistic to continue the season as best as possible.”

For the conquest of the podium, at the end of a fight complicated by problems with the car for all the contenders, the one who prevailed was another man from Potenza, Berardino Vaccaro who, aboard a Formula Renault Suzuki 1400, prevailed over Gloria Kit 1150 by Fabio Di Cristofaro from Caserta and on the Chiavenuto Suzuki 1400 by Giuseppe Palumbo. Sixth place overall, at the wheel of the Elia Avrio St09, for Innocenzo Vizzuso from Grassano, among the promoters of the race together with Armando Stola, ninth in the Formula 3 Dallara, and Domenico Caputo, fifteenth in the Fiat X19.

The top ten is completed by Fabiano Di Cesare, seventh on the Fiat 126 Suzuki silhouette, Antonio Lavieri, eighth on the Radical SR4 Suzuki, and Angelo Lucia, tenth on the kart cross 600 vst. 11th position overall and best performance among the Slalom Specials for Roberto Telesca on Fiat 127, while Rocco Muliere stood out in E1 Italia on Renault Clio Rs. Filomena Palumbo from Foggia can celebrate an excellent debut in the slalom, finishing with an excellent 13th place overall on Viali 1000. Awarded for the slalom prototypes was Antonio Scrocca, on a Fiat group N, the largest, the best is Niki Icuchi on Peugeot 106 1.6. In the historical races, Pasquale Cerone (A112) did well, even 35th in the general. In Racing Start Plus the dominator is Stefano Caivano, on Citroen Saxo Vts 1.6, and in Racing Start the leader is Michele Bozzo on Opel Corsa tb 1.6. Carmine Urgo is first among the Under 23s on a Peugeot 106 r 1.3.

In the tourist regularity slalom, the victory went to Alessandro Rista on the Fiat Punto GT.
