Olbia. This year too, as per tradition, the Caribbean dance teacher Kenia Fundora, known locally as the “Queen of Salsa”, presented to the public the students of her school, the “A Todo Ritmo” dance academy, making them perform at the city cinema. The show was held on June 14th, attracting great attendance and enthusiasm from the participants. New this year, the participation of Sabrina Merlo, modern dance teacher at the academy, who took care of the part of the show relating to her specialization, choreographing together with the teacher Fundora, artistic director of the event. The evening was hosted by the presenter Mirko Putzu and the audio-lighting technical part was handled by Shardana Eventi e Servizi; photographer Matteo Varchetta. Title of the essay “Evolucion”. In fact, the evolution of dance throughout history was chosen as the underlying theme, starting from the early 1900s up to the present day, with all the social and cultural changes, to give visibility, through dance, also to hard-won women’s rights.

A show full of emotions, songs, dances and traditions rendered through an impactful musical journey through history and performed by the school’s talented students, divided by gender and age. Girls and adults, under the guidance of their teachers, gave life to an exciting evening, alternating Caribbean and modern dances and giving the public a show of high artistic and expressive level. The icing on the cake was the surprise performance by teacher Kenia Fundora, together with dancer Jorgue Vega.

The teacher comments: “I am very satisfied with the outcome of the show. We sold out in a short time and the public participated enthusiastically. I am proud of my students, who always manage to excite me. They have worked with determination throughout the year and I am truly happy with the results they have achieved. Now all that remains is to meet up next year.”
