Those that the owners of commercial businesses in the city find themselves experiencing are certainly not “magical nights”, forced to suffer thefts at the hands of gangs from other provinces but also of some local criminals. Last night a new attack was carried out, shortly after midnight, at the company «Cerms” to Morra plan, at the end of via dei Mulini. The criminals took away the cash register drawers which contained money, the amount of which has not yet been quantified by the owners. One of the oldest companies in the city is being targeted, given that it has been operating for over forty years, specializing in the sale of plumbing, heating and air conditioning products. According to an initial reconstruction by the Carabinieri of the Benevento Company, who intervened on the spot, the criminals, after having climbed over the fence that delimits the entire area of the company, headed to a well-defined place, removing a panel of a side door of the structure. Once inside, they focused their attention on the crates, neglecting the large quantities of materials present in the room which, in order to be stolen, would have required the use of other equipment which would have taken significantly longer. The company’s coffers contained the proceeds until Friday evening, taking into account that the company remains closed to the public on Saturdays. The “Cerme” is equipped with an alarm system connected with the operations center of the “Il Poliziotto notte” surveillance institute, which recorded the intrusion of the criminals and, on the spot, the security guards immediately arrived, but the thieves they had already disappeared, probably along the road axis that connects the area with the “Vigorito” stadium. The soldiers of the Company’s mobile radio unit and the owner of the company himself also intervened to carry out an initial inspection. Video footage from the cameras has also been taken, which recorded the various phases of the theft and which, from this morning, will be carefully examined in search of any clues to try to identify the perpetrators of the robbery. A theft which, clearly, was not the result of chance, both due to the choice of the target and the methods with which the criminals stole the loot.

As is known, in recent days other attacks have been carried out in the city, with similar methods and always with the characteristic of rapidity. The criminals, in fact, well aware that the premises targeted have alarm equipment and cameras, focus on speed, in order to beat the police to the point. Furthermore, the perpetrators of the raids cover their faces with hoods and wear gloves to avoid identification, in the knowledge that, having a history, they can be identified, as their names and related photos are entered into the police databases. The attacks carried out in the last ten days involved a tobacconist’s bar attached to a fuel station and the “Rossotono” supermarket, formerly Carrefour, both in via Nenni. The total loot from the two raids amounts to around 50 thousand euros. There was also a further theft, this time by a young man, in a shop on Corso Garibaldi managed by a foreigner (loot 500 euros). Even in the province, things are not better, as evidenced by the fourth theft against a bar in Pago Veiano.
