The two very young people were at edge of a scooter when, for reasons now being ascertained by the local police officers of Reggio Emilia, they were hit by a car.
The serious accident happened near the intersection between via Gian Battista Vico and via Goya, around 8.15pm. The dynamics are still to be clarified. Local police officers are still carrying out investigations on the spot.
Immediately after the accident, emergency services were mobilized with the 118 dispatch center not only sending ambulances but also an air ambulance to the scene.
The injured minor was transported on board the aircraft to the Maggiore hospital in Parma for the intensive care unit. He is in very serious condition.
The friend who was with him on the scooter was also very serious and was urgently transported to the Santa Maria Nuova hospital in Reggio Emilia.
Officers from the Reggio police station also intervened on site to assist the local police. Traffic suffered a heavy setback and it was necessary to manage the road system to allow first the rescue operations and then the collection work by the officers.
