According to what Il Giornale di Sicilia writes, a motorcyclist did not notice the barriers that had been placed by the local police to delimit the chasm that had opened up in the road surface of Viale Ingegnere Giuseppe Bagnera and crashed into a New Jersey road in cement.
The fall
The eighteen-year-old motorcyclist was riding a Honda SH scooter on Friday evening and due to his injuries he had to seek treatment from doctors at the hospital where he was transported aboard an ambulance called by the local police who were present on site, at the moment of impact because they were busy cordoning off the area. Immediately after the accident, a crowd of onlookers gathered at the scene. The investigations are being conducted by local police personnel who immediately after the episode diverted as a precaution to one side in the direction of state road 113, while waiting for the area to be made safe.
Just last month in Palermo, in Viale Regione Siciliana, a man died after losing control of his scooter due to a large pothole. Fortunately, however, the young man from Bagheria will get by with a few days of hospital stay, but his fall could have had much worse consequences, as happened in the case of Palermo.
Little girl in hospital after falling into a pothole
A few days ago a 10-year-old girl ended up in the Di Cristina pediatric hospital in Palermo after falling through a pothole. The little girl was taken by 118 health workers to the emergency room for a head injury. The little girl was with her father, in via Alessio Narbone, in Zisa, when she fell and hit her head. Municipal police officers intervened to carry out the investigations.
