Lussu Previews: “The Eyes of Penelope” with Fabrizio Raccis in Cagliari. On June 20th in the Red Room of the Hostel Marina the author presents his collection of poems in the company of Marcello Polastri and Gabriele Attene

CAGLIARI. On June 20th at 7pm, in the Red Room of the Hostel Marina in Cagliari (Scalette Santo Sepolcro 3) the writer and poet Fabrizio Raccis presents the collection in verse “Penelope’s eyes” (Catartica Edizioni, 2024), where he retraces an unprecedented journey within the Odyssey, in which Penelope becomes the symbol of a boundless love, an immortal love that cannot be defeated by the adversities of life. The evening is included in the Previews of Emilio Lussu Prize Festival organized by the cultural association The Alembic. The author will dialogue with Marcello Polastri accompanied by readings by Gabriel Athens. Entrance is free and free.

If it is true that each chapter of the volume is connected to the epic poem written by Homer, something more than a simple reworking appears between the pages: the poet tells his intimate love story for better or for worse, transcending real facts and feelings . This is how Western classical culture blends with modern culture in a refined and completely original poetic form. A personal diary is born to reveal in detail the author’s profound love for his muse.

Fabrizio Raccis collaborates with various magazines and newspapers through articles and critical reviews. He has won several poetry prizes, including the Laurentum Prize in 2011, and the medal of honor at the Alda Merini Prize in 2022. He founded a literary collective “Gruppo Penne Armate” and is one of the editors of the poetry magazine Erbafoglio . He published the poetic anthologies The Butterfly and Other Poems (2005), The flowers your body (2006), The Last David (2008), The meal of the crows (2013), System hybrids (2015) e Flesh of Bathsheba (2019). He also wrote works of fiction: Mystery tales (2012), The eyes of the raven (2015), Tales of the Grotesque and Mystery (2017), Edgar Allan Poe. The mystery of death (2021).

The festival is supported by Autonomous Region of Sardinia And Municipality of Cagliari. For info and reservations contact [email protected] or the numbers 3280951378 – 328 0615016.
