Galattica – Rete Giovani Puglia is the new initiative of Puglia regionedited by Youth Policy and ARTS Section (Regional Agency for Technology and Innovation), aimed at providing young Apulian people with services for information, accompaniment and support for the activation and promotion of territorial animation actions between peers, within public spaces already intended to host initiatives in favor of the youth world. The objective is to accompany young people towards opportunities and experiences in the social, professional and civic participation fields, encouraging their autonomy, protagonism and active inclusion in local communities.
Inside the Galattica Node of Brindisi the CSV Brindisi Lecce “Volunteering in Salento” presents Tuesday 18 June next (starts at 6.30 pm) in Brindisi at the Neighborhood House of the Accademia degli Erranti, in Via Giovanni Tarantini, 35 in the former Convent of the Pious Schools “Follow me! Volunteering in the time of social media”. It is a talk show on the theme of Youth and Volunteering, based on the importance of words in personal growth. Face to face with Don Cosimo Schenathe most social priest in Italy, author of the book “God is my Coach”, interviewed by Tiziano Mele, journalist and mental coach for about twenty years in the Communication Area CSV Brindisi Lecce “Volunteering in Salento”. The event, free and open mainly to young people, was born from the desire to involve teenagers and young people from Brindisi in social and voluntary activities, with the awareness that donating a few hours of your time to others represents an extraordinary opportunity for a lifetime . Young people will be able to intervene during the talk with questions, reflections, useful ideas or simply by recounting an experience.
Don Cosimo Schena. Born in Brindisi in 1979, he is a priest of the diocese of Brindisi Ostuni. Graduated in Philosophy and in Clinical and Dynamic Psychology, he obtained a PhD in Philosophy at the Pontifical Lateran University, where he explored the theme of totalitarianism and mysticism in Simone Weil, and is currently specializing in Brief Strategic Psychotherapy, an innovative approach and effective for the treatment of different forms of psychopathology. He has published several books of poetry and philosophical essays. He is the most followed priest on social networks in Italy, where he shares with his followers reflections, columns, invitations to love, peace and care for all creation. Defined as “the poet of God’s love”, he is a commentator on many television and radio programmes.
