Galilei-Costa-Scarambone selected in the world top 10 for the “Nobel” schools

This news was welcomed with great enthusiasm and pride by the entire “Galilei-Costa-Scarambone” Institute of Lecce. Thanks to the social startup Mabasta and the commitment of students in the fight against bullying, the school was included in the prestigious ranking of the World’s Best School Prizes, in the “Supporting Healthy Lives” category.

There Galilei-Costa-Scarambone selected for the World’s Best School Prizes it represents a significant achievement. This award, promoted by T4 Education in collaboration with Accenture, American Express and Lemann Foundation, is considered the “Nobel” of schools. Founded by Vikas Pota, the award recognizes educational excellence globally, with a prize pool of $50,000 for winning schools.

The project that led to the Galilei-Costa-Scarambone in the world top 10 is Mabasta, born from the initiative of the students, affected by a tragic episode of bullying involving a 12-year-old. Led by young team leader Mirko Cazzato, the Mabasta project adopts a proactive anti-bullying strategy, involving over 35,000 students across Italy.

Daniele Manni, the project’s lead teacher, explains that the student-centric approach is fundamental to the success of the project. This method allows students to discover their passions and talents, putting them into practice for the common good.

Not just there Galilei-Costa-Scarambone selected for the “Supporting Healthy Lives” category, but also another Italian school, the ITIS “G. Marconi” of Dalmine, was included in the “Innovation” category. These results demonstrate that Italy is at the forefront of innovative and social education.

The head teacher Gabriella Margiotta expressed her joy at this extraordinary result, underlining the importance of the collective commitment of the teaching staff and students.

The commitment of students and teachers to combat bullying has led to a result that will be a source of inspiration for many other schools around the world.
