“The list deserves it”

“We see, in the journalistic forecasts on the future administrative structure of the Municipality of Pesaro, certainly not attributable to Mayor Biancani, in whom we have the utmost confidence, that the Il Faro list is never taken into consideration”. Raising his voice is Stefano Mariani, co-founder with Massimo D’Angeli of the list that has its roots on the San Bartolo hill.

“We would like to remind you that Il Faro, like the other lists competing in the Pesaro city council, has elected a city councilor and that on the basis of the pre-electoral agreements it expects the right recognition”. Translated from political jargon, it is a rather clear message sent to the mayor: “We want a place in the first post-Ricci council, as foreseen – adds Stefano Mariani – in the pre-electoral agreements of the center-left alliance”. The name put forward by Faro would be that of former councilor Heidi Morotti (who obtained 131 preferences, placing third after Donini and Mariani), who Ricci had assigned to another position together with Sara Mengucci: “It is also important to remember – insists the list of San Bartolo – that Il Faro, which has over twenty years of presence in Pesaro politics, has always been a loyal list towards the current majority and that a few years ago agreed to leave the council without asking for anything in return to give to the majority to strengthen themselves”.

Let’s say that perhaps no one had taken into account the fact that a seat could arise from the votes of the Il Faro list. Instead, the electoral success of Stefano Donini (224 preferences), a recently retired former official of the municipal housing office, has messed up the mayor’s accounts. “Il Faro is the only true civic list in Pesaro. And for four legislatures – adds the note from the list – it has elected a councilor. The not insignificant fact is that in the area where the list started (San Bartolo) also in this legislature as in all previous ones, it is the most voted political movement and certainly this too has a significant meaning. Il Faro has always represented the decentralized territories and is their voice in the city council”. “Consequently we are certain – add Mariani and D’Angeli – that thanks to his correctness and foresight, Mayor Andrea Biancani will be able to appoint his team, finding the right balance between all the figures at his disposal”.

Easy to say, a little more difficult to do, unless Biancani really wants to upset all the political balances, as was partly done to the detriment of the Democratic Party with its civic list and the almost mandatory inclusion of a double councilor coming from there with Riccardo Pozzi (Psi) and Luca Pandolfi (Pd).
