The hopes of saving Gela Basket have not yet faded. The partners have been trying to find a solution for several weeks so as not to lose the project. There is some news: the management group has started initial contacts with some local and non-local entrepreneurs, without, however, reaching a concrete agreement. Meanwhile, the club will be given a one-week exemption by the league to formalize registration for the Serie C Sicily championship, a small breath of fresh air therefore giving members more time to close any agreements. Even if there were initial contacts, the management hoped for greater interest from the city after the appeal launched by the lawyer Fabio Cipolla at the beginning of the month.
The company renews its invitation to entrepreneurs to take over the project, a healthy reality which does not only concern the first team, but also the entire youth sector and mini basketball and which does not deserve to disappear. Obviously any market operation is out of the question as there are no funds and a solid corporate group. To date none of the players in the squad have left the project, waiting to know if there is hope of saving everything once again. The hope is that other entrepreneurs, local and otherwise, will be able to take into consideration the appeal launched by the company. Taking over a company is anything but a utopia. Just look at what has been done by the Polisportiva Nuova Città di Gela which over time has found people willing to support the project.
