VITERBO – This morning, the former mayor of Viterbo, Giancarlo Gabbianelli, participated in the inauguration ceremony of the renovated Melvin Jones park, located in viale Capocci. Gabbianelli took the opportunity to publicly express his esteem for the current administration and in particular for the mayor Chiara Frontini, present next to him.

Recalling the twenty years that have passed since the original inauguration of the park which took place under his leadership, Gabbianelli expressed the hope that in twenty years there will be a mayor “with the sensitivity and the care for the city that Chiara Frontini, together with her administration, currently has and is demonstrating despite the difficulties”.

The new park project began during the Michelini administration in 2018 and was subsequently funded under the management of Mayor Arena. The current Frontini administration has made significant changes, including paths, protection of tree roots and new plant essences.

Among those present at the inauguration were also the president of the Viterbo Lions Club Luigi Pasqualetti, the current president Francesco Cima and Paola Massarelli, president of the Admo. In the garden there is a monument dedicated to those who donate, in the spirit of the bone marrow donor association.

Councilor Emanuele Aronne and manager Loriana Vittori coordinated the recovery intervention of the park, which was symbolically reopened today, 15 June 2024, exactly twenty years after the original dedication in memory of the founder of Lions Clubs International, Melvin Jones.
