Pescara. With the signing of the contract yesterday, 6 June, Dr. Vittorio Di Michele officially assumes the position of Director of the Mental Health Department of the ASL of Pescara.

The appointment gives Dr. Di Michele a five-year position. Di Michele, specialist in Psychiatry, former Medical Director of the Northern Area Mental Health Center UOC and acting in the same Department, boasts over thirty years of experience within the ASL of Pescara.

Since 1993 he has held the role of Medical Director, while from 2022 he has assumed the role of Medical Director. His proven experience, gained within the Mental Health Department, makes him a figure of great professionalism and competence, with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead the department effectively.

“Dr. Di Michele presented a departmental program of great value,” declared the Director General Michitelli. “His plan fully shares the company vision, focusing on management parameters of effectiveness and efficiency.”

“Dr. Di Michele’s program – explains the ASL – places as a priority the improvement of the efficiency and accessibility of services for the adolescent and early adult age group. In particular, the strengthening of the Early Interventions Functional Area (AFIP) for the 14-25 age group is planned, in line with the National Mental Health Plan 2013-2020. Another key point of the program is the strengthening of the accessibility and capacity of semi-residential psychiatric rehabilitative care in the metropolitan area. This objective aims to provide concrete support to people with mental health problems, promoting their rehabilitation and social reintegration”.

“Dr. Di Michele’s project – concludes Michitelli – outlines a complete strategy consistent with the company objectives and the specific functions of the Mental Health Department. His proposals aim to create concrete opportunities for improvement, with positive repercussions both on the departmental structure and on the entire ASL”.
