BOLZANO. Yet another vandalism raid against cars. It happened in the night between Thursday and yesterday, sparking the anger of those who found the glass of their car shattered in the morning before going to work. The area near Corso Libertà was particularly affected, but other episodes also occurred in Gries, specifically in via Tripoli and in Don Bosco.
“Three cars were also damaged in Via Puccini” wrote a citizen on Facebook, complete with photos. Then in via della Zecca and in via Longon: it appears a concerted action but at the moment there is no one responsible.
The modus operandi is always the same: a sharp blow to shatter the “fixed door” glass, which is more expensive to repair than the window, as underlined by one of the many body shops that have found their workshops full in recent months. In the vast majority of cases the expense for the damage suffered exceeds the value of the objects taken away from the vehicle: it is therefore an act halfway between theft and vandalism, in all probability perpetrated by the same people, which brings with it an aura of mystery.
The phenomenon seemed to have faded in recent weeks after the countless episodes between February and March. At that time, a group was even created on the online platform Telegram to report similar cases. And while the police were looking for the person responsible, some citizens had organized themselves to hunt down the serial glass crusher themselves.
