Naples she woke up sweeter today with a giant tub of ice cream in her Town Hall Squarein the shadow of Castel Nuovo, of the Maschio Angioino. The city, with its constantly growing national and international appeal, was also chosen by Ferrero, a multinational leader in the food sector. The company founded in Alba, Piedmont, in 1946, chose Naples for two important reasons. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Nutella and to launch its new ice cream, the Nutella Ice Cream. From today until 8pm and tomorrow from 11am to 8pm it will be possible to try the new Nutella-based product for free, in the Popup in Piazza Municipio.

«In the context of the 60th birthday celebrations, Nutella changes shape for the first time in its history and turns into ice cream», he commented Federica Roberto, Region Marketing Manager Ice Cream at Ferrero Italy. «Not Nutella ice cream, but Nutella that becomes ice cream. Although Ferrero is among the last players to enter the ice cream market in Italy, we have great ambitions: we believe that Nutella Ice Cream could soon become one of the most loved products by consumers in the tub ice cream segment.”

And looking at the long queues in the square in Naples to taste the new product, Ferrero seems to have hit the mark. The choice of the city, then, is not random. «Today we are in Piazza Municipio, to celebrate 60 years of Nutella and the new ice cream», he continued Federica Roberto. «We chose Naples because 10 years have passed since the last major event held in the city, for the 50th anniversary of Nutella. Naples is a truly warm city and what we are seeing confirms this. The city is responding very well, we have had a great turnout since this morning and we will remain open until 8pm, to then return all day tomorrow.”

For Neapolitans, tourists and the curious, however, the surprises do not end here. «Consumers who come to visit us today», concluded Roberto, «will not only be able to preview the product, but also have an experience inside the stand to discover all the secrets of the new ice cream». And, furthermore, after tasting it you can also follow a game path inside the stand and win a personalized Nutella spoon based on the choices you make. The new ice cream, available in stores from the beginning of June, is produced in the Alzira plant, in Spain, in the province of Valencia.
