Crotone – The KResciamo project concluded with an exhibition

Crotone – The project that ended with the photographic exhibition open to the public on June 12th is called “KResciamo”. The event was held at the headquarters of One Cooperative located in Piazza Santa Veneranda nr.6, in the presence of the parents of the girls and boys involved in the project, of all those who collaborated and of the pastor of the Waldensian Church Greetje van der Veer.

The project was supported by the Otto per thousand of the Waldensian Table and was managed by the ONE social cooperative society, in partnership with the Amateur Photographers Association of Crotone.
The project was designed with the aim of increasing in young people the sense of civic responsibility necessary to build a more just and livable city. The organized activities were aimed at making people learn that one can be a present and proactive citizen who does not limit himself to expressing his dissent, but who acts to improve the conditions of the territory in which he lives, becoming an important resource. There were so many experiences: they witnessed the wonderful spectacle of the Caretta Caretta eggs hatching at the Sovereto beach; they went around the city, accompanied by the municipal police force, to fine those who broke the rules of the road; they met the Arbereshe culture in Pallagorio where we were wonderfully welcomed; they contributed to making the Bella Calabria Hostel confiscated from the mafia even more beautiful, creating two murals; they helped prepare a delicious ethnic lunch which included dishes from Crotone, French, Ukrainian and Algerian cultures; they cleaned up the beach, but they also dedicated time to themselves thanks to the Art therapy laboratory.

The project also made it possible to provide psychological support, where required.
All these activities would not have been possible if not with the contribution of all those who collaborated and for this it is necessary to thank: the Friends of the German association, the WWF Crotone section, the commander of the municipal police force Francesco Iorno and the policeman Dionigi Mano, the Sabir association, Lina Tsepla representing the Ukrainian community, the Fili Meridiani association, Domenico Periglia representing the Crotone photography group. A special thank you to the Waldensian Church who believed in the potential of the project.
