There is something new in the new edition of the “Cultural Festival of the Rural Villages of Laga 2024”. And it is the connection with the ITALEA project which is aimed both at those who already know their Italian origins and who want to organize a trip to explore the places, traditions and culture of their ancestors, but also at those who want to discover their ancestry Italian, and who will be able to make use of a network of expert genealogists ready to guide you in this fascinating journey of researching your roots.
And it will be precisely with the return of the FESTIVAL to its places of origin that on SUNDAY 16 JUNE, in the hamlets of Cunetta and Casanova, the combination of FESTIVAL and RADICI will become a single event.
The municipal administration, which won the “ROOTS TOURISM” project, is proud to welcome again the traveling exhibition, promoted by eighteen municipalities in the crater area together with FederTrek and the “Territorial Network of Communities” and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture. This will be an opportunity for a convivial welcome from the splendid resident community before embarking on the route of the ancient mule track that leads to the village of Casanova, which still retains some ancient buildings with interesting architectural elements. After having appreciated this other example of a cohesive community, there will still be time to be won over by the great emotion given by the Tordino River Waterfall and the surrounding river environments used in the past by man, as the presence of the Casanova Mill still testifies. The program will be completed by a tasting of the typical products of Alto Tordino, followed in the afternoon by the narration of the history of Cunetta by the inhabitants, a photographic exhibition and the screening of an interesting video souvenir at the Church of S. Lorenzo.
