MILAN – For every 100 euros collected by the State, there are another 11 that the State coffers probably never risk seeing. This is what the data shows Mef reworked by Cgia of Mestre on tax evasion at a regional level. If in terms of absolute value it is the Lombardy the region with the highest revenue loss, 13.6 billion euros, followed by Lazio with 9.1, Campania with 7.8 e Veneto with 6.5, the ranking is reversed in percentage terms in relation to the amount collected by each region.

For every 100 euros of tax revenue collected, the propensity to evade mainly affects the regions of Southern Italy. Calabria leads the way at 18.4 percent, followed by Campania at 17.2, the Puglia at 16.8 and the Sicily at 16.5. On the other hand, the territories most faithful to taxation are the Autonomous Province of Trento with an estimated tax evasion of 8.6 percent, the Lombardy with 8 percent and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano with 7.7 percent. The national average is 11.2 percent.
